X : Thoughts on a cloud first policy?

Me : My thoughts are you should exploit the landscape. Utility before Commodity before Rental before Product before Custom Built before Genesis.

Cloud is just X as a utility where X is infrastructure, platform, specific applications etc
... you be amazed, well I am, at the number of times people try to justify their custom built private cloud as part of a cloud first policy. Gronda, Gronda.
... the latest madness is people telling me that they're going to build their own serverless rather than use a utility service like AWS Lambda. It's like OpenStack on steroids but with even less strategic intent.

Me : Slowly, in my own time.

Me : Mapping is a field, an enormous field from strategy to anticipation to power to finance to operation to culture. It will die as a one person cult. It's essential to nurture others to lead, learn and explore ...
... you do this by opening the door, in my case to the importance of context, and then holding it open for others to walk through. You don't do this by trying to become the guru of something, the canonical source.

Me : Oh yes. You need to use appropriate methods. As a rough guide
X : Do you have an example of this?
Me : Sure. This was a first draft of how to use multiple methods when building HS2 (high speed rail) in a virtual world. It's from 2012 roughly, you'd have to talk to @GoAgileGov for more details and how it helped.
X : 2012?
Me : Yes. I've got earlier examples.
X : How early?
Me : Oldest ones, mostly photos of whiteboards date back to around 2005 - 06. Why?
X : My boss says the company has to go all agile.
Me : Is the firm bigger than 20 engineers?
X : Way bigger!

How to realize Q is legit & Trump is in charge of Q.

Q created a POWERFUL army of free thinkers. Gave MANY a voice. Any corrupt President or Country would not tolerate us. There would be no reason to let us get larger if Trump was corrupt or not behind Q.

In the end we will not go away anytime soon. Trump and others are aware of this fact. We will be a THORN in the ass of many for MANY years to come. This is good. Q boogie man I joked of but is VERY real.

If you are wondering what all the excitement is about with optically pumped magnetometers (OPM), which @WCHN_UCL researchers published in @nature today, a thread:
OPMs are 'room temperature' MEG sensors: they require no supercooling (are actually heated by lasers), which means no helium. Helium is a scarce, incredibly expensive resource.
Because OPMs can sit much closer to the scalp than traditional MEG sensors, they offer a 4-5x SnR boost over traditional measures.
