Finally the IT chaos in the courts hits the front pages.

But this is far from the first time the courts and the public have been let down by the MoJ’s abysmal computer systems. The questions now are how much is this persistent failure costing, and who is going to be accountable?
The MoJ has not yet provided an explanation, save to insist that it’s not a cyber attack and isn’t related to the digital reforms which have been independently assessed as the most ambitious ever attempted anywhere in the world.
The suppliers of the defective technology are Atos and Microsoft.

Journalists may well ask, informally or by FOI, how much we are paying Atos and Microsoft for their services; how many problems there have been; the terms of the contracts and how much this has cost the taxpayer.
