Venezuela’s opposition has been invited to collaborate and participate with the mass Chavista movement for years to resolve problems. They have flatly refused, saying this huge, majority social movement of the poor should have no voice—should be silenced. That is a fascist vision
In Venezuela I learned that the only way this minority, unpopular right-wing movement could take and hold power from the pro-government masses is by extreme violence backed by the US, most likely WITH the US military. That is the scariest thing about this whole situation
Maduro even created Constituent Assembly election to meet opposition demands PEACEFULLY, COOPERATIVELY. Even extended candidate deadlines, begging the opposition to run. They refused, and instead murdered candidates and attacked voters & polling places
In 2018 presidential election, the “popular” opposition had zero chance of winning. So they called a boycott to then claim the election was illegitimate, to legitimize US intervention we are seeing now. After he won, they tried assassinating him by drone. It’s the same people!
After the US/opposition plan to KILL Maduro failed, they moved to this plan: simply announce a guy with a 70% disapproval rating (according to their own polls) is now the President. Likely plan to kidnap & jail Maduro & kill Chavistas like these SAME PEOPLE did to Chavez in 2002
