Me to political journalists: Campaign coverage is a broken form. 2016 was a debacle. I get why you do it, but organizing coverage around the horse race isn't working. An interesting and worthy alternative is the citizens agenda approach. You should check it out.

Political journalists to me: I'm going to skip past what you said about the... what was it? civic agenda or whatever, a term I don't recognize... and assume you meant policy coverage. Actually, there's a lot of policy coverage. It's hard to do well, but we do more than you think.
