..was after leaving his Cabinet Office meeting just before lunch.. sounded lukewarm on Brady:“The Graham Brady amendment is being considered seriously by serious people and that is a serious matter..We’ll have to see what the speaker calls what it achieves and where it leads us”
Another former Cabinet Minister Brexiter told me that Brady amendment was “too vague” and would wait to see what PM said...
That former Cabinet minister says everything changes if Cooper Boles passes tomorrow... Rees Mogg said to me that “if it went all the way through it would be the most extraordinary constitutional breach” and questioned whether it would require money resolution/ Queen’s consent.

NEW: Ministers’ private concern over US Congress siding with Dublin. Specifically Cabinet sources point to impact on any US-UK trade deal should UK be seen to renege on commitments to Dublin.
In particular the Democratic Party takeover of the key Ways and Means Committee, the House of Representatives Committee with most influence over trade policy, that has in the past demanded trade deals be renegotiated, and in particular key Irish American Congressmen /2
Eg here is Chairman @RepRichardNeal of that key congressional trade Committee visiting the Irish border just a few weeks ago with Sinn Fein politicians - he also secured Gerry Adams an invite to the Obama inauguration /3

Government today acknowledged publicly a few weeks before the event what Sky News #brexitforensics revealed 11 months ago, and was the subject of numerous gagging orders on business - that they will not be able to enforce No Deal customs controls on 29.3 because they can’t.
Here’s the video report from last year on what the industry called the “throwing open the borders” solution in a No Deal situation... simply not enforcing at the border checks
Insiders say there aren’t the agents, staff, checking areas to be able to enforce changes at border. Firms will instead have to register for a new system & volunteer info later, but won’t be checked on way in for 12 months. Some doubts that new customs system will be ready too

Home Secretary Sajid Javid tells Marr “we are planning to leave on March 29th” under existing Brexit legislation, which was not quite we will leave on that date.
Also refers to loss of SIS2 EU system used to check all entrants to UK with passport swipe against database... to use inferior Interpol sys in no Deal, calls it a change of capability, unwilling to actually say the words that this is less, worse or bad, says UK will remain safe
Covered this No Deal loss of security capability last month after our leak of Border Force presentation on No Deal:
However, because of the ECJ red line this is not certain even in under PM’s deal...

Because I don’t have any better ideas on how to stop this horror, I’d like to retain your attention with an account of another famine, which took place just 75 years ago in Amsterdam and other Dutch cities during the Hunger Winter of 1944-’45.
At the time, my grandparents were running a drugstore in Amsterdam West, which meant they had it pretty easy compared to most other people, because they had plenty to trade in exchange for food, when their money proved to be inedible.

No one ever said #Brexit would be easy except Nigel farage Boris Johnson David Davis liam fox Jacob Rees Mogg Ian Duncan Smith Chris gargling Michael Gove and numerous other prominent brexists however I've not encountered one leave voter who ever listened to anything they said
The people who voted leave all knew that we would face the destruction of just in time manufacturing the loss of financial service jobs not to mention food and medical shortages and I will of course stoically bear it for #Brexit

It is no surprise Twitter targets accounts for “wrong think” or as we on the #Right like to call it “free-think” this is because of two events which are now totally and utterly inextricably linked, #Brexit and #Trump and the Establishment have been rocked to the core. 2/15
Neither of which were supposed to happen & yet they did now the Establishment is determined never to allow it to happen again or even at all, the reason for them happening was nothing to do with social media, but was to do with people knocking on doors and persuading others. 3/15

I’m at an @OpenEurope event at parliament where Jacob Rees-Mogg will be talking Brexit. As chair of the ERG his comments will be watched at No 10 for signs of backbench Brexity unrest.
Rees-Mogg declines to answer how many members the slightly shadowy European Research Group, home of many die-hard Brexit Tories, has. It has “supporters up and down the country”, he says coyly.
Rees-Mogg says UK is in a very strong negotiating position with EU due to a/ its payments to EU and b/ impact on Irish economy if there is no deal. UK should “ratchet up the pressure”, he says.

Absolutely. That’s what the referendum did. The far-left and the far-right weren’t just close to each other, they ended up touching, with Galloway and Farage singing from the same hymn sheet.
And if you follow the ‘horseshoe’ back up from that far-left/far-right crossover, who pops up next? Corbyn and Rees-Mogg.

Both lifelong Eurosceptics, but Corbyn is hiding his true colours, while following the same Brexit path.
