Home Secretary Sajid Javid tells Marr “we are planning to leave on March 29th” under existing Brexit legislation, which was not quite we will leave on that date.
Also refers to loss of SIS2 EU system used to check all entrants to UK with passport swipe against database... to use inferior Interpol sys in no Deal, calls it a change of capability, unwilling to actually say the words that this is less, worse or bad, says UK will remain safe

However, because of the ECJ red line this is not certain even in under PM’s deal...

Government defeated on EU Withdrawal motion meant to show a stable majority for a deal with a renegotiated backstop after major abstention from Tory MPs

PM can not now claim that she has a Commons mandate for her attempt to renegotiate the backstop, as she repeatedly has - the Government specifically asked for support for her approach to be “reiterated” - it has not been.

PM not in Commons...
Government seems to have shot itself in both feet by getting Soubry to withdraw her amendment - could have done with it passing...

Yvette Cooper says the PM’s renegotiation efforts are a case of the emperors new clothes with people laughing at us running around naked, which would be funny “if it was not so sad”.
Anna Soubry now advocating her amendment - which seeks to release the Cabinet No Deal papers - understand they are the Yellowhammer papers on transport and trade... about which I understand there was a Cabinet disagreement over their release - that’s what Soubry says
Letwin up now - didn’t think today wd matter... but that’s “very wrong, in a v bad way”

Frustration and #Brexit despondency reign right now in EU circles. “This new round of EU-UK negotiations is essentially window dressing” -one official tells me “Each side just repeats well-known red lines to the other. And all this with time running out.” 1
Every two weeks, the PM sets another deadline for “crunch time”. It was supposed to be today, now it’s theoretically end of Feb but few in EU see things moving bilaterally till March. Probably the EU summit on 21st with 8 days to go till ‘B Day’ 2
Even well-seasoned EU officials don’t want to predict with certainty what could happen then. Many in the UK who voted Leave because ‘Brussels bureaucrats have all the power’ might be interested to see the power for change in the #Brexit deal lies with the 27 national leaders 3

Home Secretary Sajid Javid called for Russia to explain Amesbury's poisonings. British detectives have said it was an item contaminated with Novichok. Dawn and Charlie had also been to Salisbury on June 29.

Home Secretary Sajid Javid & Policing Minister Nick Hurd both publicly criticised Lush #spycops campaign for verbally criticising police. When hundreds of far-right physically attack police on the streets: nothing.
54 #spycops have been named. Two of them briefly spied on the far right. Many more were deployed, and for longer, in anti-racist groups. The political policing has a political focus.
A leaked email from the head of the #spycops units said the EDL weren't considered domestic extremists. Around the same time, Climate Camp was described by spycop managers as 'sitting in the priority area' of domestic extremism.

1) Thread - All Brexits are bad and what we voted for
It's often said by brexiters that "it's not all about economics"
However, the *actual* Leave campaign was almost wholly about economic arguments

With the leak of this 2-8% report those arguments are now trashed
2) We seem to have forgotten this however economics played a huge part in the Vote Leave campaign, making up over 2/3rds of the primary arguements. The clear message was we would at the least be no worse off and at best much better off. 4 of the 6 below state this clearly
3) & the fact is voters believed we would be no worse off. People prioritized immigration certainly, but against a backdrop of there being no consequences from Brexit - few are prepared to actually pay for ending FoM
