Misleading tweets are on against Govt move to return Ayodhya land Facts in 1994 constitution bench had said excess land to be returned. It not owners can file writ for its return. In June 1996 owners wanted the land back. In August Govt said will do after Allahabad HC verdict 1/7
In 1997 owners sued for return of land. SC ruled govt policy decision to return land after Allahabad HC judgement is correct and dismissed the writ. In 1996 & 97 UF govt was in power. In 2002 owners asked for the return of land. Vajpayee govt was silent 2/7
One Aslam Bhure petitioned to stop any activity on the excess land till the Allahabad HC verdict. The SC okayed it. In 2010 Allahabad HC verdict came. In 2011 in the appaeal against ir the SC said excess land not to be put to religious or other use as per Aslam Bhure order. 3/7
But in 2018 SC said Aslam Bhure order was effective only till Allahabad HC order. So there are 4 orders of SC. 1 return the land (1994). 2 return the land after the Allahabad HC order (1997) 3 extending the status quo under Bhure order (2010). 4, Bhure order exhausted in 2010 4/7
1994 order casting duty on govt to return excess land of Hindus acquired still stands. The dispute is about when to do it. The SC itslef has said after the Allahabad HC order. The SC has said it is govt policy to decide how much excess land is needed to enjoy disputed land 5/7
The 2011 order is also only to protect the disputed land. The disputed land is 0.313 acres. The extra land occupied is 71 acres. How much is needed for enjoying the disputed land is to be determined only by govt. May be couple of acres. Why hold so much extra land

The govt is doing the right thing by recalling the 1994, 1997, 2003 and 2018 orders of the SC saying return the land after Allahabad HC order and asking the SC to modify its order of 2011 based on the expired order of 2003 saying status quo. The govt is absolutely right.7/7
