Actually I was publicly pointing out Trump's unsettling Kremlin ties long before anyone on Team Hillary did but, hey -- #facts!
Regrettably neither did Hillary do much with this information in 2016 -- I know it was out there -- before it was too late, by which point it looked frankly desperate, rather than something which the American public vitally needed to know about when selecting the next POTUS. /3
I'm not really blaming Hillary for this failure, though since the strange saga of Trump's Kremlin ties is difficult to explain to those not acquainted with arcane subjects like Russian intelligence operations, organized crime, and money-laundering. It's not sound-bite-able. /4
Two groups DO bear a good chunk of the blame for Trump's shady Kremlin links not getting sufficient exposure before 08 NOV 2016. First, the MSM. Elite journalists, with depressingly few exceptions, steered clear of this story, for many reasons, none of them flattering to them. /5
Last, the Obama WH bears a fair share of the blame here too, for persistently soft-balling Putin's increasingly aggressive conduct against the West and the US, 2013-present. Shutting down DoS counterpropaganda work in fall 2015, for instance, was appallingly stupid. Oh well.../6
This is why, once the Trumptastrophe is over, we need a bipartisan Congressional commission, like with 9/11, to assess what really happened -- fairly & dispassionately. There will be surprises. Some people will get upset. Nevertheless, we need the full truth here, on record. /7X
