1. Truth About Partial-Birth Abortion
While there is a federal ban on it, the legal definition of partial-birth is so loose, it is practically unenforceable. Its main purpose is to express a societal consensus that it is not condoned. Extreme cases are already handled in private.
2. Polls over the last 20 years have consistently shown over 80% opposition to third-trimester abortion, let alone partial-birth abortion. That includes men and women, and that includes pro-choice women too.
3. The societal consensus is clear. So what made the Democratic legislature and Democratic governor in Virginia to make a bill for unfettered abortion, even at the point of birth, a high priority? Even people like me who presume no evil intent are shaking our heads.
4. Which constituency do these politicians exactly serve? It is hard to shake the impression that this has little to do with women's health, and more to do with either unhinged zealotry on the issue or returning favors to Planned Parenthood for generous campaign contributions.
5. If not, make the case out in the open. Show us the stats on the number of women whose lives have been horribly negatively impacted because they couldn't get a legal abortion at the point of birth.
6. Don't pretend that condoning partial-birth abortions and worse post-birth abortions legally will not unleash a thousand Gosnells.
7. Maybe the movie "Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer"" should be a required viewing in every legislature in the land. See the below thread for details.

The End.
Vice President Mike Pence has written a beautiful opinion piece on how life is under attack in liberal bastions of New York and Virginia. Still, we should take heart. The NY & VA bills are the last gasp of a dying movement, he says. Let's hope he's right.

You can't get around this, no matter how many slick post-hoc videos are produced by professionals, and no matter how may WaPo writers author apologia, attacks on conservatives for opposing assault on human decency, or sympathetic biographical profiles. 1/
I would add that I have no animus whatsoever toward Kathy Tran. She seems very sincere, a hard working legislator, and a wonderful mother to her own children. She just happened to be the soldier on the front lines of a concerted effort by Democrats and Planned Parenthood. 2/2
