Thread: Resources on abortion. Christians have ALWAYS affirmed the humanity of unborn humans and opposed murdering them in utero. We have always opposed infanticide. Even the pagan Assyrians could see that it was wrong.

The eschatological-legal religion is graceless and driven by a shared vision of the future, one that is attained by obedience to the new and ever-morphing law of social justice.
I recall reading that at least some of the ancient rabbis believed that if every Israelite obeyed the law at the same time, for just a moment, the Messiah would come. If so, that’s a religion of eschatology and law.
Christianity has eschatology and law but it is not fundamentally an legal-eschatological religion, i.e., attainment of the eschaton (the future blessed state on earth) through law-keeping. It is a religion of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

This is complete nonsense! There are many reasons to celebrate Reformation Day. I shall proceed to enumerate them.

First, the Reformation, symbolized by the Ninety-Five Theses (but not at all summarized by them) represented a rejection of false damnable errors.
Not the least of which was the Romanist claim that the church has an “unwritten apostolic tradition.” This is a complete fiction without warrant either in Scripture or in the earliest Christian writers, who said nothing about any such thing.
When they did mention was the “apostolic tradition,” which was merely a way of speaking about the Epistles. See e.g., Ad Diog., c. AD 150). Basil was the 1st to speak of an unwritten apostolic tradition and he was just making up things to refute the Eunomians.

My whole life, I was told I asked too many questions. My mum would encourage me to ask but teachers and neighbours would consistently shut me up when she wasn’t there. So, I toned it down and simply HOPED that what I thought things were, were what they really are.

Examples:
1. If I had asked my former boss to explain to me why I wasn’t getting my pension statements and Tax reports, I would have known sooner from his response that he lacked integrity and empathy.

Instead, I HOPED he would see how hard I worked and not cheat me that way. I goofed!
