"In labor" decision was a false hypothetical asked by @vahousegop maj leader. Eclampsia is a serious condition often causing maternal death in childbirth & often deformities in the child. Convulsions & death often occur. There is no time to get 3 drs to concur. @GovernorVA
Abnormal development of the fetus can also occur. Causes of abnormal development may include: Insufficient blood flow to the uterus;damage to the blood vessels; problems with the immune system, among other disorders. BOTH mother & baby are at risk. @VaHouse @GovernorVA
Fetal growth restriction. Preeclampsia affects the arteries carrying blood to the placenta. If the placenta doesn't get enough blood, baby can't receive inadequate blood & oxygen & fewer nutrients. so low birth weight, preterm birth, deformities @VaHouse @GovernorVA @VASenate .
Eclampsia is life threatening for mother & child & occurs once labor starts. Women DIE in childbirth. My sister had eclampsia & convulsed, almost died. Thankfully, my nephew & she survived. This isn't something to be politicized! @VaHouse @VASenate @GovernorVA
