I was nominated to share my 10 favorite books, so here we go....

1. Night - Elie Wiesel. In this book, Elie Wiesel describes in vivid details his experience with his father at Auschwitz and Buchenwald in 1944–1945. One of the best books I've ever read. Powerful and essential.
2. The Book of Why: The New Science of Cause and Effect.

I love it.
3. I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer.

The first true crime book that I read from cover to cover. Even more interesting now that they finally identified and arrested the "Golden State Killer".
4. Incognito: The Secret Lives of the Brain.
5. The Templars because @dgjones is a genius of storytelling.
6. A Mother's Reckoning: Living in the Aftermath of Tragedy by Sue Klebold.

Not an easy read and it made me feel sick several times, but it gave me the chance to see what happened at Columbine from a completely different perspective.
7. The Greater Journey: Americans in Paris, by David McCullough.

I read it recently. It's brilliant and it made me want to travel back in time to Paris in the 1830s.
8. Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari.

I'm sure you know why.
9. 102 Minutes: The Untold Story of the Fight to Survive Inside the Twin Towers.
10. Conversations on Consciousness: What the Best Minds Think about the Brain, Free Will, and What It Means to Be Human.

On this day in 1952: Queen Elizabeth II succeeds King George VI to the British throne and proclaimed Queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms including Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
On 31 January 1952, despite advice from those close to him, the King went to London Airport to see off Princess Elizabeth, who was going on her tour of Australia via Kenya. On the morning of 6 February at 07:30 GMT, George VI was found dead in bed at Sandringham House in Norfolk.
He had died from a coronary thrombosis in his sleep at the age of 56.

His daughter flew back to Britain from Kenya as Queen Elizabeth II.

People always ask me to "colorize" these marble statues. I don't see the point.

What's your opinion?
I'm not against the idea of seeing them in color. I just do not think colorization is the way to go. A traditional painter would do a more accurate job, both historically and aesthetically.
The techniques are quite different. In colorization you can not "draw" details. So if something is not visible in the picture (the iris, for example), you can not recreate it/paint it.

If you want to digitally reconstruct the colors, it is easier to create a 3D version (IMO).

I met Zainab @cafe_abuja after a long day.

I had just sat down and ordered my meal when she walked in.... I have never seen such a good looking, petit girl, so fine I didn't want food any more.

She looked around for a seat and our eyes met, I smiled and she smiled back.
It was a full house and only one chair left and it was on my table.

She walked towards me and asked if she could seat with me as there was no where else, I smiled and stood up to pull her the chair.

Zainab is flawless, she smelt like she had dropped from heaven.
We sat for about 5 mins and then I managed to say "Good Evening, my name is Jay"... She replied "My name is Zainab and I am new in Abuja as well"

We had our meals and chatted like we had known for ages.

1/ I’m very passionate about #books. Every opportunity I get I try to buy some more books for my #antilibrary. However, over the last year, I have changed how I read books. I’d like to share the short story and process in the following thread:
2/ Story: I felt like I was stagnating. I read a lot but I didn’t think I read well. I’d forget almost all of what I read besides a few key points in a fairly short period of time. Being in fields that require consistent learning, I felt I needed to change my approach.

Here's my layman's not-totally-accurate-but-gets-the-point-across story about how  #meltdown & #spectre type attacks work:

Let's say you go to a library that has a 'special collection' you're not allowed access to, but you want to to read one of the books. 1/10
You go in and go to the librarian and say "I'd like special book #1, and the Sue Grafton novel that corresponds to the first letter of page 1 of that book." 2/10
The librarian dutifully goes and gets special book #1, looks at page 1, sees 'C', and also grabs 'C is for Corpse', and comes back to the desk, but does not show you the books. 3/10
