2013: Conservatives on NBC, led by David Mckintosh, arrange to lend the Cobblers over 10 million quid. The money disappears to the Cardozas and the developers and the stadium work never finished.

2014: Conservatives on NCC launch "Next Generation" plan. At least 50 million quid wasted and led to bankruptcy. Architects of the failed plan received honours and payoffs up to £100,000.

2015: As it emerged just how disastrous the Next Generation plan was, Conservatives lavish over £80,000 worth of corporate hospitality on each other, including a box at the Saints

Also 2015: David Mckintosh elected to parliament

2017: David Mckintosh resigns and is questioned by police over £30,000 of dodgy donations provided by Cobblers developers

2018: Just as it cuts the ribbons on a new £53 million office at One Angel Square, Northamptonshire County Council becomes the first council in over 20 years to effectively become bankrupt.

2018: Spending on every aspect of Council services is slashed; vulnerable children and adults, road gritting, libraries closed etc etc

2019: In an entirely foreseeable turn of events, during the winter it gets cold and icy. Previously gritted bus routes become extremely dangerous and the car of a heavily pregnant lady is skidded into (luckily Mother and Baby reported to be unharmed).

2019: Responding to huge public, media and opposition pressure, the leader of the council (formerly head of failed Children's services dept and fresh from sacking the popular new head who was turning department around) thankfully reinstates old gritting routes

By the way, I don't use the term idiot lightly. It's degrading & normally no place for it in sensible discourse. However, I can't think of better term for someone party to the above, who wastes all the taxpayers money causing services that are vital to people to be slashed...

... and then has the nerve to try to sell a partial reinstatement of such vital services as some sort of achievement of him and his ilk
