How the hell is @iealondon, which won't disclose its funders, engages in highly political campaigning and seeks to rip down public health and environmental protections, registered as a charity?

No, Mark Littlewood, who funds you to represent their interests in public life is not a private matter. Open information about political influence is essential to both democracy and free speech.
If they want to remain anonymous, they shouldn't use their money to try to change political outcomes.
It's good to see that the BBC is at last engaging with this issue, after a mere 10 years of asking. The question now is: will it uphold its own editorial guidelines, by insisting that lobby groups like @iealondon reveal who they're representing when they appear on its programmes?

Tomorrow at noon I'll be speaking at the #FridaysForFuture Youth Strike in Oxford, in solidarity with the young people confronting the system that has failed them. This feels like our last chance.
We appear to be approaching systemic tipping points at horrifying speed: the collapse of living systems, a likely sudden change of state from one climate regime to another. Yet those in power respond with indifference, denial and delay.
Many times in history, the old have betrayed the young. But never has the betrayal been as profound and consequential as this. Now is the time for a global rising against the destruction of our life support systems. And, led by children, it is happening.

We made the submissions for both back in 2008 and their assessments by the Threatened Species Scientific Committee began in 2008 and 2009 respectively. After years of workshops, expert research etc. the TSSC delivered the advice that both should be listed as Critically Endangered
This advice was delivered to then Environment Minister @Mark_Butler_MP in 2013, and to his credit he acted on the TSSC's advice and made the listings. @Nat_Irrigators, led at the time by @tomchesson01 (former adviser to Nat Shadow Water Security Minister John Cobb) weren't happy

1. @GlobeOpinion delivered a one-two punch of consecutive op-eds last week blaming environmentalists and NIMBYism for both slowing progress on climate change here in Mass. and callously off-shoring environmental degradation related to the state’s appetite for energy.
2. The first op-ed transported the reader via WABAC machine to mid-1990’s Point Fortin in Trinidad & Tobago (TT), where plans were then getting underway to build the Atlantic LNG plant/terminal.

3. Something strange happens in the 3rd paragraph of the op-ed. Though describing the events of 23 years ago, the op-ed says that the TT LNG plant was built to provide Boston “with natural gas when constrained [natural gas] pipelines into New England max out.”

THREAD (1) When the likes of Hannan feel the need to 'brush off' something so critical to the right-wing/neo-con #Brexit wet dream, we find digging a little deeper to be useful. After all, ground breaking 'shadow trade deals' with right-wing US think tanks is no small fish.
(2) In fact, given the growing negativity surrounding the #Brexit negotiations, compounded by the Govts' own damning economic analysis, one would have thought Hannan and Fox et al, would be shouting from the roof tops about their bespoke 'shadow US-UK trade deal.' Wouldn't you?
(3) The problem for our intrepid trade deal making duo, as almost always, is to be found in the detail; just what are, and who is, behind these neo-con US think tanks? Perhaps Daniel would enlighten us?
