We heard a little about childhood cancer (possibly good but waiting for details) and school choice (not good) in last night’s #SOTU.

However, despite 1/4 of the population, children were largely ignored.

But we have a proactive agenda for kids. —> campaignforchildren.org/resources/repo… (1)
It begins with this simple premise and demand:

“Any policies that affect children should base their foundations on the best interests of the child.” #BestInterestsOfTheChild #SOTU (2)
We are asking lawmakers to ask and affirmatively answer one simple question when they are making public policy:

“Is it good for the children?” #SOTU (3)
We were thrilled when @SpeakerPelosi gaveled the 116th Congress into session in the name of children. We have a robust agenda for her to consider. 👇

This demands that we have some tough discussions with both sides of the aisle, such as this from @IrwinRedlenerMD who raises a number of problems created by poor policies and the disregard of children’s interests by the current Administration. —> thedailybeast.com/the-trump-admi… #SOTU (7)

Children need adults — our policymakers — to stand up for them and both champion and defend them.

Lawmakers must focus on the problems facing our children and work toward solutions that meet their needs. #SOTU #Champions4Children #InvestInKids (11)
Children also need child advocates to be their ambassadors and voices in partnership with lawmakers when they are helping kids and to hold them accountable when they are doing harm to kids.

They are counting of us. #NoWimps #SOTU (12)
We are working to build a strong Network for Children to be those voices.

Please join us in that effort. 👇

Another critically important way to help would be to make a tax deductible contribution or donation to our sister organization, @First_Focus.

Funding will help support the education and policy development work they do on behalf of children. —> firstfocus.org/donate (14)
