im still mad that we don't know what the secret glitter is
im glad we are rehashing this again because it drives me crazy that we didn't figure it out last time
people in the threads have really dumb theories though. like i promise that the POLYHEDRAL DICE INDUSTRY'S SECRETS are not what is on the fuckin line here y'all
im reading the answers to austin walker's thread and im so mad at all the dice people like there is no way that dice is a big enough industry for this
the world is very big and your hobby is very niche please calm down
or at least some kind of consumable
before someone asks: yes i DID think of casino dice. they are obviously just regular plastic or resin or whatever and also like automotive paint there is no reason to keep it a secret
however this is VERY interesting and i would like to know more.

there are like a gazillion identifiable glitters, you could totally just use combinations of them to identify things
now i'm just thinking about things that we SHOULD be using glitter for like secretly putting it in all the bullets so that we know where bullets that kill people come from. i am also massively dunning-krugering that i am SURE but its a good cyberpunk novel premise
swarovski crystal is just leaded glass. it is exactly the same as "the good crystal" that people get for weddings.
also fire-polished czech glass is nicer
here's the reason i don't think it's jewelry: you know those really cool glass beads with the metallic stuff in the middle?
these are all pulled from Fire Mountain Gems-- they're just foil in the middle. everyone knows that this is how it is made! they are often called "foil lined". it's really common with lampwork style glass 
they also just straight up use glitter in lampwork style stuff and it's not a big deal. there's just no reason to hide it. and that's not even going into the sheer volume of jewelry you'd need to be making for that use to be a thing.
lampwork beads with glitter and/or foil are incredibly popular, because they look incredibly cool and are really cheap. you can get a really nice pendant for like $5 or less

oh and the reason that my other theory is just "military ????????" is that from my perspective the military is usually wasting huge amounts of money on weird shit that regularly doesn't actually even fucking work

like "something military" would be in my top 10 guesses for anything that is "someone is buying up exorbitant amounts of [MATERIAL] for secret purposes"
