@_journaling_ @TheFigen As I have been blocking the right people, not being completely new to Twitter, I haven't experienced one of those, yet, but it's good to be prepared.
@_journaling_ @TheFigen Figen's infantile outburst promptly saw a wave of likes from people whose position was that the innocent bystanders who had been endangered or even harmed non-consensually by the maker or promoters of these "prank videos" just needed to get over it.
@_journaling_ @TheFigen As did, apparently, anybody who would speak up for those victims. No, what really mattered (as far as these people were concerned) was that some very selfish people had fun watching those videos. So to Hell with consent? That was their position.

@_journaling_ @TheFigen Does that cover this silly issue? I hope it does, because I am so tired of it. Of Figen, I will say that she's the sort of person who is noticed only because the Internet exists, and that affects the experience she has and gives.
@_journaling_ @TheFigen Despite the impression left by the sitcom that everybody seems to think shows the scientific community as it is ("The Big Bang Theory"), in real life, on college campuses, the STEM people usually get chased by the Humanities people.
@_journaling_ @TheFigen They'll have some boneheaded point that they want to discuss (eg. the violence inherent in the laws of Physics, because the use of the word "forces") and either not notice or care about the fact that we're running to get away from them.
@_journaling_ @TheFigen Figen, the musicologist, reminds me of those people. She finally has the attention that neither her brain nor her looks ever got her, and it went straight to her head. She couldn't handle it.

@_journaling_ @TheFigen Once it got going, this being the Internet, there were plenty of thirsty, underhanded white knighting males ready to feed that ever growing ego of hers. Especially on a site on which psychopathology is as accepted as it is here.
@_journaling_ @TheFigen Let's never forget that Twitter is the site on which Naziism came back to life as a political force, in large part because so many people enjoyed being outrageous controversial so much that they rallied around the neo-Nazis, even as those Nazis racially harassed other users.
