@TheFigen This is what Figen is throwing a temper tantrum about.

She posted yet another airhorn "prank," celebrating its humor and then flew into a narcissistic rage when I pointed out why this was not a good thing to encourage.
@TheFigen People have had their hearing damaged without their consent for the rest of their lives, because some yahoo thought it would be funny to blast an airhorn in their ears.
@TheFigen To fully repair the damage done to their ears by this violent act is beyond anything present day medicine can do. This is forever.
@TheFigen If your response to that is to say "she should keep them coming, I love her videos" then my response to is "what kind of worthless, self-absorbed human being are you."
@TheFigen Somebody, in the replies, had the nerve to say that I lived to be offended, as if objecting to the non-consensual partial deafening of random strangers on the street was somehow the same thing as objecting to the refusal to use made up pronouns.
@TheFigen False equivalences hardly come any more insane than that one. One migh add that the dangers posed by these nitw.its with cameras looking for their 15 minutes of fame - 15 minutes Figen is happy to give for the sake of a quick retweet - is growing.
@TheFigen Nobody has blown an airhorn in my ear, yet, but I have repeatedly run into fools who tried to shine laser pointer beams into my eyes, and one really winning pair at the fourth of July who launched a small solid fuel rocket at my head.

Good thing that I could duck quickly.
@TheFigen It passed through the space formerly occupied by my head about a second after I saw it fire up and hit the dirt. I can't tell you whether the video ended up on Youtube, Vimeo or where, but I can tell you that it wasn't staged. Or consensual.
@TheFigen As illegal fireworks sometimes will, the little rocket exploded with enough force as to leave no reasonable doubt that if I hadn't seen the launch and it had hit me, at the very least it would have burned off one side of my face, and there's a good chance it would have killed me.
@TheFigen All that so two little nothing human beings could upload a video. Two people who never faced justice for what they did, because they quickly vanished into a crowd.
@TheFigen If that sort of thing is how you get your fun in life, then on behalf of all of the innocent bystanders who've been endangered, disfigured, deafened, blinded, maimed or worse for the sake of your unthinking, uncaring, selfish pleasures, f.uck you!
@TheFigen Thanks to people like you, stepping outside is getting to be dangerous. Where the f.uck do you get off acting like you're the victims when somebody says something about the practice of using unconsenting human beings as if they were nothing more than props?
@TheFigen "You have no right to be critical of me !!!!!!"

Yes, b.itch, I do. It's called "free speech." Get used to it.
@TheFigen "I don't shoot these videos!"

You help them go viral. You give the sociopaths and psychopaths shooting them the attention they desire, giving them more of an incentive to shoot more videos like this, harming and endangering more people in the process.
@TheFigen People who aren't even being asked if they want to take part. There's a real ethical issue here that doesn't go away because you have a selfish desire to get as many followers as you can, by any means available to you, with as little effort or talent required from you as possible
@TheFigen "I don't prepare jokes or madness in videos!"

When you show a video in which somebody is harmed, non-consensually, attach a comment with a laughing emoji and then act like you're celebrating the "joke," who you think you're fooling?
@TheFigen "That's so dumb ignorance! Don't criticize me stupidly!"

No, that's me speaking truth to incel-driven power. You damsel-in-distress routine did not go unnoticed, and it told me all I need to know about you. You have no value as a human being.
@TheFigen "STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP If you want to stop following me!"

I had already done so by the time you posted that, as you know, because I had already blocked you and my comments had already vanished off your screen. And you weren't able to reply to them, any more.
@TheFigen "I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU !!!!!!"

Yet, in the face of mild, reasonable criticism from me, you go into hysterics. But I can sincerely tell you that I no longer care about you.
@TheFigen If tomorrow, I heard that you had a sudden change of heart, posted an apology and pledged to start using your account and your following in a more responsible manner, my back would stay turned on you, as it always shall.
@TheFigen You're a terrible person, Figen, and you don't have it in you to change. I might only have 100 followers on this account to your 133K, but I didn't take a slog through a moral sewer to get it, the way you did.
@TheFigen I know you'll never understand this, even after one of your 133K followers sends you the screenshots (along, maybe, with a translation into Turkish), but "success" isn't everything, and you don't have to see anybody appear in a burst of flame to have sold your soul.
@TheFigen I'm going to go on saying and doing the right thing, whether or not it's the popular thing. Maybe this means that I'll never get a following as big as yours, but if so, I wouldn't want that following, anyway.
@TheFigen While, admittedly I've shown few signs of it in the course of posting to this account (so far), I am a PhD candidate in Mathematics (Probability, to be exact), so my field should give me as much to write about as yours does.
@TheFigen Sooner or later, and probably sooner, my tweeting is going to have more to do with that, and less to do with Internet drama. I've been blocking yahoos like you and your fans for a reason.
@TheFigen If people on Twitter value interesting reading at least as much as they do dangerous, irresponsible stunts, then at the risk of sounding immodest, I won't need your support, Figen, any more than I really want it at this point.
@TheFigen If, on the other hand, joining in on an intellectual and moral race to the bottom is the only way to get more than a handful of followers, then I don't want a crowd of my own.

Why would I want to be seen with people who had expectations like that? What would that say about me?
@TheFigen I'll put out some decent content. If that's enough to get me a following, great. If not, f.uck it. I'll just go out for some fresh air. Bring some books, get some tea.

Obscurity isn't the end of the world.
