Sherrod Brown hedging on Green New Deal @ Monitor breakfast today: "There are going to be all kinds of specific pieces of legislation on all kinds of issues coming out of an energized new group in Congress...I’m not going to take a position on a everything bill that’s coming out"
Sherrod Brown says "I support a green new deal, but I think we need to aggressively support climate change.” But said "I don't know" when asked how he would vote if Green New Deal legislation was on floor today. (H/t @JasJWright)
Sherrod Brown: “I’m not going to get in the position, as every time someone has a really good idea or a big idea, that I have to talk in great detail about my position on it. I know the easy thing to do is say yes, yes, yes... I don’t know if that serves my constituents."

Traders who can benefit are those who are fairly knowledgeable about Option Strategies, have some Trading experience but are not being able to make consistent Profits and don't know why. Unfortunately it is not for those with a Trading Capital of at least Rs 25 lacs if not more

The YouTube algorithm that I helped build in 2011 still recommends the flat earth theory by the *hundreds of millions*. This investigation by @RawStory shows some of the real-life consequences of this badly designed AI.
This spring at SxSW, @SusanWojcicki promised "Wikipedia snippets" on debated videos. But they didn't put them on flat earth videos, and instead @YouTube is promoting merchandising such as "NASA lies - Never Trust a Snake". 2/

I have a new report out about economic distress in the U.S., co-authored with @rp_griffin. This is based on 2018 polling from @DemocracyFund's Voter Study Group. voterstudygroup.org/publications/2…

Here are a few findings. (1/x)
The big problem with measuring views of the economy is partisan bias (news.gallup.com/poll/233576/am…). "Is the economy getting better" correlates with party identification at |r|=.44.

This report uses a 14-question index that is weakly correlated with party identification. (|r|=.11).
Finding #1: Economic distress is higher among people of color than whites. This should be obvious but the focus on the "white working class" obscures it.

In fact, whites without a college degree report *less* distress than blacks *with* a college degree.

Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation
The Mom and Dad now have once weekly Skype calls with their 8-month-old baby. That's right, folks. They Skype with an infant. #EndFamilySeparation #FamiliesBelongTogether

THREAD/ Trump effectively has no lawyers:

(1) McGahn is a witness against him.
(2) He no longer trusts Cobb and discusses firing him.
(3) Dowd resigned.
(4) DiGenova and Toensing chose not to join the team.
(5) Sekulow is more activist than lawyer.
(6) Cohen is mired in scandal.
1/ Trump faces the biggest hurdle to the continuation of a presidency since Teapot Dome, and does so without effective legal counsel. That's dangerous for the nation—as it means he'll rely on radical advisors like Bolton, who'll give him non-legal avenues to escape his problems.
2/ Don McGahn has already refused a direct Trump order—to fire Mueller—and is a witness in Mueller's probe of Trump's effort to illegally influence and/or fire James Comey, Jeff Sessions, Christopher Wray, and Mueller himself. McGahn will ultimately have to testify against Trump.

#New PA cong. map increases D chance of winning the House majority by 4%. They only need a 6.8% generic ballot margin now (down from 7.7) to be favored.

Diff. will be closer to 10% in Nov when uncertainty from polls is ⬇️. Redraw is a very big deal.

One major reason the new PA map is such a big gain for Democrats is that it solidifies, not just tips, PA districts in Philly burbs. Also creates one additional vulnerable R district. (Easily seen in this map made by @JMilesColeman)
My forecasting model will have new PA map in the near future. This is not just a simple switch; it’s a coding redesign, restructuring of input, & drawing new geographic files. Takes a while (for me, a student).
