Today Momentum distanced themselves from a prolific harasser of Jews @lableftvoice (Sally Eason). It was a PR exercise designed to whitewash the structural antisemitism in their own organisation. But even Momentum’s own Director supported a Holocaust denier...>>
@lableftvoice is supported by a network of antisemitic Momentum members, followed by Labour MP Chris Williamson and only weeks ago had their antisemitic conspiracy theory retweeted by Aaron Bastani.

But Momentum North Devon didn’t get the memo about the new PR whitewash...>>
They defended Bastani retweeting @lableftvoice. When I bought it to their attention that he had a history of peddling these type of conspiracy theories involving Jews, they demanded evidence. I produced it - about 7 screenshots, much Rothschilds conspiracy stuff...>>
Which they denied was antisemitic and excused because it was *only* tweeted 4 times (36 at last count actually). This despite my clear explanations to the contrary. They were denying the Jewish experience of racism currently and over the last few hundred years.
They supported Bastani’s claim about a Rabbi being a Netanyahu fan, even after i supplied them the screenshot of him publicly denouncing Netanyahu.

Even if he was a supporter, would using it to downplay Labour antisemitism still be ok? No.
So, where does this episode leave us? Well, it makes a mockery of Momentum’s cynical attempt to whitewash antisemitism on that very same post...>>
And the people like Owen Jones who retweeted Momemtum’s post? He came out in solidarity with Bastani after Bastani was exposed. Until Owen Jones condemns the people like Bastani who support @lableftvoice, then it shows him to be a hypocrite.

Not my #FirstSurvivor (as there were family members and people at Synagogue who were survivors). But the story of someone at a day centre where I used to help as a teenager really got to me. She was a very miserable lady, always depressed and moaning....
People who knew survivors might recognise those symptoms. Here’s her story:

She and her family were captured and taken to a concentration camp.
The Nazis lined her up with her family in front of a pit of bodies. Then they tried to shoot the whole family using just one bullet. To prevent waste or just for sick kicks. They thought she was dead but they didn’t kill her because she was shorter...

I was in panel discussion at Christ University today on 'What is India's identity? Is it changing?'

I told India's primary identity is Hindu identity. A large section of audience gasped with shock as though I said something offensive. Some felt I was 'extreme'!
The kind of setback Hindus have faced in the narrative war is unbelievable and most unfortunate. It's a pity that we can't even call ourselves Hindu unapologetically.

Don't know how many decades of work is necessary to change this. Most important war to win is narrative war.
The idea that we became a new nation in 1947 & our Constitution is what makes us plural is the regular BS that our kids are fed with.

Unless Hindus realise that India is plural because India is majority Hindu & not just because of a Constitution, we won't go anywhere.

1. There are two issues with the approach: as others already mentioned, the way the items were combined causes problems with contextual/empirical validity. Second, the scale doesn't reflect the authors' own definition, resulting in issues of conceptual validity as well

2. As authors themselves note in Ch.7, the populism scale (anti-elitism and salience of corruption) doesn't reflect their definition (anti-elitism and invocations of vox populi). Why "populism" scale then? Especially as the operationalisation visibly impacts empirical validity?
3. CHES anti-corr item measures the salience of corruption as an issue, not broad rhetoric of "corrupt" ("distorted") vs "pure" ("genuine") politics. Thus, the way items were combined results in values cancelling each other out in some contexts. Not the fault of @ches_data

This is a particularly insidious form of A/S because it is often deftly mixed with actual history. The basic outline is that communism was created by parasitic Jews as another way to suck the capital of their "host" nation. (So was capitalism, apparently.)
Judeo-Bolshevism predated the Nazis and began with the idea that leading Communists (esp. Marx and Trotsky were Jews.) Now, they were perhaps ethnically Jewish, but never would have identified as such. Nor did they live as Jews. But that is not important for antisemites...

Momentum have made a video about #antisemitism on the left. It's good that they've tried and the examples of antisemitic tropes are familiar enough. But there's a few revealing problems with this video... /1
Firstly and most obviously, claiming that Corbyn is a perfect example of how to listen to the Jewish community and oppose antisemitism is - what's the word - IRONIC. I think. /2
Secondly, 'don't be antisemitic to me because I'm a good Jew who boycotts Israeli goods' kind of misses the point. /3

On va prendre pour exemple la centrale solaire de Cestas en Gironde.
Inaugurée fin 2015, c’est la plus grande d’Europe avec 300 MW de puissance installée (presque 1 million de panneaux !).
