Don't let anyone rope you into any rules, in life, everyone has his niche.
Study yourself, create your niche.
You prosper in doing what you enjoy doing daily.

I have worked as an architect for over a decade, so this didn't start overnight.
I recently had a "misfortune" that has become a fortune (see my pinned tweet).
Before now, I had my first company SHECHEM HABITAT LTD @ShechemHabitat running (10 years now) as a side biz with my job

After the story on my pinned tweet, God gave me two new ideas: an NGO @The1Habitat and another business @MyHouseMechanic .
All 3 organizations are available on all major social media platforms with the same handles so my customers reach me easily.

I left my office job in 2016 and have been building all 3 organizations gradually.
I realized that social media is now the-next-best-thing especially for advertising.
My customers come regularly through social media.

So I set a structure.
This my personal account is like a "church" because I love God and I will NEVER mention anything religious on any of my business accounts.
Instead, I make my followers trust me by building their confidence and the give me referrals (indirect reference)

I also take advantage of What's app status.
Tbh, my highest number of customers thus far came in this order:
WhatsApp status
Facebook
Twitter
Instagram
(This is me, it can differ for you depending on your biz or followers)

But mind you, this didn't start overnight.
Social media is a war zone or a battle ground.
You can have 1 million followers who don't care about you, your success is directly linked to the engagement with your followers.

It's actually because we are either wicked or jealous of each others success, we would be more successful if we share or RT people's businesses but it became easier with promotions.
My first 200 followers in the NGO, I paid Twitter for them.

My Shechem Habitat Facebook page has over 3000 likes mostly paid for.

What am I driving at? AUDIENCE!

Also, I built all these over time.

So the earlier you start, the better.

Yesterday someone from Facebook, I have never met before relocated to Abuja and used my official line to reach me.
We met, he credited me with 80k and still owes me 16500 balance for the job I posted last on HOUSE MECHANIC page.

How did he know?
I keep putting it online.

As much as you play on social media, once in a while drop what you do.
Someone will be touched by God to contact you.
Provide contact number, email, WhatsApp, separate business accounts across social media.
Etc

KEY:
Encourage other people by sharing their business, when they see yours, they will also share.
What goes around, comes around.

Don't be sad if it's slow in the beginning, notice I invested a lot of money to get here, start with your data. Create business pages.
Showcase it.

Tag friends, let them know.
Talk to people physically.
Basically, focus on creating awareness.
Keep your business in their faces daily.

Business is for generous people, if you are greedy you won't last.

Above all, seek God.
It is He that gives the power to get wealth.
