Now that Bernie Sanders has announced for 2020, here's a reminder from 2016.

A national poll two days before the November 2016 general election showed:
1. Sanders was more popular among every racial demographic than Clinton.
2. Bernie would have won.
1. Bernie Sanders was more popular than Hillary Clinton in every racial demographic 2 days before the 2016 election vs Trump. The "non-whites hate Bernie" is a complete lie.
2. Bernie Sanders had a major lead vs Trump (compared to Hillary Clinton) in the 2016 general election beginning in early 2016 and continuing all the way through election day. In this poll 2 days before the election he was up by a landslide 12 points. Clinton was +2 with MOE +/-2
3. And for good measure, let's remember that Independents decide the general election, not Democrats. If Independents are shut out of the Democratic primaries like they were in 2016, and if Bernie loses the primary because of that, the Democratic nominee will lose to Trump.
