Life is a war.

Unlike literal war, it is a way of truth, not deception.

Still, just like a wise general who must know the horrors and losses of unprofitable war before he can wage war profitably, you must know falsehood if you are to find your way to the truth.

How well are you doing in this war of your life?

Are you a wise general?

Are you a Lord of Destiny?

No? Then why not?

Yes? Then we celebrate you.

Isn't that a wonderful term, "Lord of Destiny"?

Follow the metaphor out. Is the country of your life at peace or peril? Wise or foolish, general or lieutenant of your life, at peace or peril, it is you who is Lord over your life, like it or not. Well, Can a Lord be a mere lieutenant? Absolutely yes.

Life is filled with many wars, many theaters of war. Education, health, money, romance, parenting, community, politics, the list goes on. Again, like it or not, you are Lord over all of them, and so am I.

Hey how do you feel about heroes? I completely believe in them!

That is, I believe every war of our lives deserves its own hero whose lead we follow. I'll share one of my own. In education, my hero is Euclid. If you don't know him, look him up. He's actually my number intellectual influence right now, and will be for many more years.

Betcha can't guess who my hero in actual warfare is! You dragged it out of me. Master Sun is right up there with Euclid as my personal great influence, my hero.

And yes, I am a Lord of Destiny, really. And yes, the Great Pasquale War is real. I fight for my life, literally.

I was diagnosed with extremely severe diabetes all the way back in 2011. Diabetes doesn't rest. It never takes a day off. I have had to wage tactical battle over my blood sugar every day for the past 8 years. I know what fighting is.

So do you. Your life doesn't rest, either.

Like me, if you live long enough you too will surely become a wise general. As country music teaches us, wisdom comes from foolishness. No, I'm not going to tell you any stories of the vast foolishness I've evinced, the battles lost. If I am a wise general, though, you know why.

The American dream is NOT a dream of the collective. Star Trek fans will understand when I declare, we are NOT the Borg, and resistance is NOT futile. We're a strange team where the letter I is front and center. We're about the one. Yes, out of many, one. E Pluribus Unum.

But first, before we’re many, or many becoming one, we are one. I am one. You are one. Your life is a war and you are, or are not, a wise general. Wise up. Win. It’s all about winning. Whoa! Did you see what I did there? Yes, our leader and my hero is President Donald J. Trump.

Making America great again is an absolute necessity. Our nation faces peril. But, because of the strange, perhaps implausible truth of our democracy, your vote matters. You are a Lord of our nation's destiny. You hold the power of the ballot in your palm.

The #WarForAmerica2020 is on. The best numbers I've found so far are these: there appears to be something like 16,000 school districts in America. Looking for a friend, a true expert, I need to know. How many are there, exactly? 16,000 tactical engagements?

If we won, if we found a wise general in every one of those districts who fought until we won, we'd address the peril our nation faces. Socialism? Still? Yes. The War for America is real. And we need something like 16,000 wise generals.
