As always, the best (perhaps only) way to understand what Corbyn thinks is by watching him interviewed. He thinks everything is going fine with antisemitism in the Labour Party
The letter in the Guardian he refers to in his defence...
Watch this, where he goes back on a press statement (clearly written for him not by him) on whether that mural was antisemitic. Always best to watch his interviews as he tells the truth there
Watch this, and the lack of empathy towards threats to @lucianaberger. Any wonder she left? Amazed it took her so long. Always worth watching interviews as Corbyn finds it hard to hide his true feelings
Would he have gone to a ceremony commemorating Black September terrorist Group? He won’t deny it. Always worth watching his interviews
I find it frustrating that people still talk about ‘what Labour can do’ and it involves some sort of journey for Corbyn.

He’s not going on any journeys. He hasn’t moved an inch. People around him say it - you just have to *listen*. Ignore the articles which are written for him
It’s why I’m not so hopeful about @LordCFalconer (who I respect) being appointed as antisemitism disciplinary tzar. Disciplinary comes after discrimination. To get to the root you have to change culture. That takes leadership. Listen to Corbyn and you’ll hear how unlikely that is
@LordCFalconer I’m not just pulling this out of the air. I listen carefully to what he says but also have spoken to many people who have tried to work with him on this - from different sides of the issue. They all say the same thing, he isn’t interested, is stubborn, doesn’t get it
The people who say in his defence that he has been fighting racism all his life - he has been utterly hopeless at fighting this racism as he believes the line that it’s smears. And the weird thing is that he is amongst the last to believe it, even in his circle
Corbyn also mentions the Chakrabarti report.

A report which wasn’t very good and in any event, despite promising personally to do so, he hasn’t implemented!

It’s beyond a joke really.
This follow up to the Sky interview in the first tweet tells you everything you need to know about where Corbyn puts antisemitism in his to do list. He sees it as an annoying distraction from issues that actually affect people’s lives. Listen to him!
On Corbyn’s and others’ defence that this is all a distraction from his important policy agenda.

Problem is he doesn’t run the country - he runs a political party. He has a duty of care to members & MPs.

What does his performance tell us about how he would run the country?
He’s like a restaurant owner who has a huge hygiene problem in his kitchen. He is presenting a plan to investors to open 100 more. They want to focus on the hygiene problem and he keeps telling them they are unfairly detracting from his amazing plans for 100 more restaurants
Who would want to invest in those circumstances?
I think it was important to give Corbyn time to show he has the insight, empathy and bravery to handle this. After 3 years it is a reasonable moment to say the buck stops with him, and no more excuses. He is the party leader and look what it has become
