Autogynephilia Resources - A Thread

I strongly agree with this tweet, because I had to read a lot on autogynephilia to understand what the hell is going. So here is a thread with resources (articles and books) on the subject for people to access. Please RT.

So you can imagine my surprise when I heard about MtF transsexuals calling themselves “lesbians”. Also, FtM transsexualism is very rare. I’ve only seen it among some younger Puerto Rican women and the one I know of that was profiled on the news recently doesn’t even live here.

So I had to read up on this as much as I could. People here still have the common misconception that transsexuals are just gay men who want to be women. But that doesn’t mean that in the Spanish/Portuguese-speaking world autogynephilia doesn’t happen. I’m seeing lots of talk...

...about lesbians “dating trans women” in Argentina, Mexico, Spain, Brazil, etc. Occasionally gay men get their own about “dating trans men”, so there is autohomoeroticism among women too. There are lesbians and gay men trying to push against this in those countries as we speak.

Addendum 4: Gynandromorphophilia (GAMP)

Gynandromorphophilia (GAMP) is the sexual interest in gynandromorphs (GAMs; colloquially, shemales). GAMs possess a combination of male and female physical characteristics. GAMP is associated with AGP, because most GAMPs have AGP.

Here is a study co-authored by Bailey that shows that GAMP men have arousal patterns similar to those of heterosexual men and different from those of homosexual men, but show more arousal to GAMs than hetero men. Also that they have AGP tendencies.

Here is another study co-authored by Bailey that shows that autogynephilic men have similar arousal patterns to GAMP men (and heterosexual men).

Gynandromorphophilia is a difficult thing to wrap your head around because people think that the relationships that these men have are “homosexual”. They are homosexual relative to sex, but not relative to sexual attraction. GAMPs and AGPs are attracted to the “idea of a woman”..

..superimposed on a male body, not the male body itself. Hence you will see two Trans Identifies Males in a relationship, but that relationship is not a typical gay relationship. It’s a relationship based on an autogynephilic fantasy of being both “women”.
