This will be a thread on the promises contained within the Conservative 2017 manifesto that the ERG commonly claim they wish to honour.

It's on this manifesto that they lost their majority so it's also a reason The ERG version of Brexit should be cancelled

On the first page they comitted themselves both to a Brexit deal and a clear plan.

The ERG like to promise no deal and have a plan as clear as mud.

The manifesto promised a prosperous future. Every brexit scenario promises a less prosperous future.

For why that is see previous point on plan clear as mud.

They were big on the membership of countries within the Union, with the ERG subsequently screwing over the views of the people of Scotland and Northern Ireland at every opportunity.

A strong economy was their first and paramount promise. Strangely every brexit scenario shows a weakened economy and while the ERG have much criticised those estimates, they have notably failed to provide any examples where Brexit helps rather than hurts the UK.

Brexit was promised to be smooth and orderly. And our relationships with European partners valued.

The ERG could not have delivered something more opposite of that promise if they had tried.

Oh wait. They have tried.

They promised to protect us from fast changing technology, such as the manipulation of social media or illegal micromarketing to invalidate referenda.

Strangely the ERG are silent on this comittment.

Rather than rejecting the ideologies of the extremist libertarian right, the ERG seem to have become the definition of that sect.

Honda, and the now countless others who have left either directly because of Brexit, as a result of its uncertainty or in the betrayal of 40 years of Government trade comittements belies this promise.

More stuff on getting a deal. In fact the concept of "No Deal", so valued by the ERG isn't mentioned anywhere in the whole document.

So much for manifesto commitments eh?

Unless of course you're an ERG member, in which case these are central to your beliefs.

And a No Deal Brexit puts every single one of these at risk

The tories have been taken over by an extremist right wing cult called the ERG. Nothing in this manifesto justifies their actions or their narrative.

So next time you hear them claiming to defend the manifesto, maybe you can ask them about their strange amnesia.

One correction in the spirit of complete scrutiny. "NO DEAL" is in fact mentioned once, together with the "No deal is better than a bad deal" aphorism.

Since the entire prospectus is focused on getting a deal, I do not regard this phrase as a serious proposition.
