Like I said before, the problem with the first referendum was that no one defined the nature of a required majority.
But you couldn't play that game with a ratification referendum, could you?

See, if you're making ratification of a treaty conditional on the result of a referendum, you'll have to define what constitutes a valid result.

You could say that it's a national vote, but unless you deliver all the ballot boxes into one huge pile and mix them all up, you will know the result in the different countries, Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland.

In fact, the whole problem with Brexit comes down to English nationalism. A nationalism so pompous and self centred it doesn't even recognise that it IS English nationalism.

Brexitr comes from Englishmen's inability to understand that England does not own the United Kingdom.

If you want a ratification referendum, you're going to have to define in law whether Scotland is a valid nation in its own right or not.
If it is, they'll say to stick your referendum up your arse.
And if it's not, they'll say to stick your union up your arse

I'll tell you what, why doesn't just England have a referendum. Do you want to break up the United Kingdom to leave the European Union?
