Anyway, that's not the point. Brexiteers are still not going to vote for it. You can see them doing the same as they do every time, encouraging each other to vote against it
And Labour is voting against it, so it's not getting through
And even if anyone was tempted to vote for it, they're not going to now because they know it's not the end of anything so they don't risk anything by voting against it again.
And this is always going to be the problem. Theresa May is never going to bring it to a final vote because she can't afford to lose. But every time it's only a pretend vote, the Brexiteers won't vote for it because they don't have to.
I can't put it in a satisfactory way.

Theresa May is always going to lose a meaningless vote.
But she can't afford a meaningful vote unless she can first win a meaningless one

Nothing is confidential from me. I know exactly what's going on. The Tories keep asking for something Europe has said no for the last three years.
And in eight days parliament is going to reject it again.
Like I said three years ago, there is no withdrawal agreement that Parliament and the European Union will agree.
That's been the only news for three years. The media have been sniffing their own farts all this time, and I've been telling the truth.
Ignore all the media and their excitement and palaver. Make a prediction and stick to it until proved wrong.
There will never be a withdrawal agreement, and in the absence of it Theresa May is going to resign.

I got wondering why Brexit is old people. And I figured it out.

Brexit is old people's doing because old people are from before internet.
It's not just the old people can remember before internet. Old people had most of their life before internet. They're from a disconnected world. A dark ages of telegrams and town criers.
Before internet there was ignorance. All you knew about the outside world was what TV and newspapers told you. And if they were anything like they are now, they told you fuck all.

Shall we explain what the backstop is and what it's for and why it doesn't matter if it's temporary or not, and why this arbitration panel . . . fuck sake
The backstop is the maximum degree of separation.
If you try to separate yourself any further than that, it will come into force. But if you end up closer to Europe than that, then it will become redundant.
Jesus Christ, people on this planet are too stupid.
If the backstop became redundant it would only happen because its terms were replicated in whatever trade agreement followed.

So now watching “Dark Water”, the first part of the two-part eighth season finale.

Clara is a fascinating companion, in large part because she’s essentially riffing on the sense of entitlement that Rose felt.

Clara is selfish and self-centred. But she’s aware of that, and the show is aware of that.

These traits are explored as developed. They make her human.

THREAD: I think we need to talk about the lefts stance on Party rebirth, & the holier than thou attitude that #Labour has on #libdems & tuition Fees. Given the rise of the far right & how much we actually agree on we really should be working together, so lets try to clear this up
For many of us @LibDems, we left @UKLabour when they voted & took us into Iraq.
Now the Labour left make the argument that Labour is not the same party that it was with Blair, & because Corbyn voted against Iraq; all must be forgiven. The party should be allowed to start afresh.
Fair enough. But if this was the case, why was Tim Farron nailed to the tuition fees cross by Labour campaigners at the last election? He voted AGAINST Fees in the same way Corbyn voted against Iraq.

Labour and Tory “rebels” have settled into a comfy pattern: if Labour votes against gov’t, rebels behave. When they vote against gov’t, Labour is told to abstain. So, all can claim in the future “I tried to stop hard #Brexit” without actually doing it. No principles and no spine.
And so, on we sleepwalk to a no-deal disaster, dictated by the disaster capitalists on the hard right, who stand to make a killing, because nobody had the guts to take the political risk of voting with the their conscience and explaining to their constituents why they did it.
Effectively both major parties have resigned to the disaster that is coming and are simply jostling to position themselves so that they can bear none of the political responsibility for it. Because, ultimately, MPs are nowhere near the precipice, like migrants or the poorest.

First off, we must thank-you all. We launched a poll on Monday expecting maybe 500 responses maximum. Instead we had a whopping three-thousand-two-hundred-and-thirty votes on our Twitter poll.

That’s ridiculous.
We asked you which party you thought had the oldest average age of MPs.

Most of you, 66%, thought it was the @Conservatives, then the @LibDems (15%), then @UKLabour (14%), with the @theSNP coming in last with (5%).

I bet the SNP are feeling fairly youthful right about now.
