2/ The White House has killed the daily press briefings and hasn’t held one since January. I asked White House correspondents what they’d ask if they could. Among the many important questions:
3/ ‘what exactly is happening with Syria troop withdrawals?’ What specific programs will the White House cancel when it claws back money for the national emergency declaration devoted to the border wall construction? Why after three weeks has that lost not been provided to DoD?
4/ does the White House intend to claim executive privilege or will it cooperate with congressional investigators? Did the president direct Michael Cohen to lie to Congress? Has the President spoken to AG Barr about the Mueller report in recent weeks? Has the White House counsel?
5/ Is Mick Mulvaney still just acting chief of staff? why? Does the president intend to nominate acting Defense Secretary Shanahan to be permanent Pentagon chief? What exactly did the President do in regards to security clearances for Ivanka and Jared Kushner?
6/ from the great @ap team: under what legal authorities is the president keeping US troops in Syria indefinitely? Why hasn’t the president picked permanent chief of staff & defense secretary? Why do US and North Korea disagree on what NoKo was requesting at summit on sanctions?
7/ are North Koreans misrepresenting what they asked for? Was there miscommunication? On policy, the president has railed against budget & trade deficits but both are setting records. Does he still view ending deficits as a priority? What policies is he pursuing to bring it down?
