Street preacher Olu update: As Olu was driven away from the scene of his arrest, it was clear to him that the police wanted to take him as far away as possible so that he could not return and preach.

1. 13:55 Police receive call alleging a street preacher is being ‘Islamophobic’ outside Southgate tube station. Police officers arrest street preacher Olu, and walk him to a car at the back of Southgate police station where they search him.

When Olu refuses to go home, still cuffed, they put him in a police car and drive north.

2. 5.2 miles away they drop him off at the edge of their jurisdiction at Wrotham Park outside of the London transport zone

3. 14:40 with no money on him, a member of the public pays for Olu’s bus ticket back to High Barnet.

4. Olu, now able to use his Oyster card, gets on another bus to take him back to Southgate tube station where he starts preaching again without any further interruption.
