i haven't seen any recent movie but i had very much picked up on the fact that people were calling movies queer when in fact no same sex kissing or statements of love or anything happen in them
any movie that doesn't have plain as day same sex kissing on screen in 2019 is made by a dream team of absolute cowards and doesn't deserve anyone's praise. that's as nuanced as i can get on it but seriously just don't celebrate anything less please thank you
video game managed to get this right when borderlands just had random characters indicated to be gay and it had zero impact on the story. that shit changed my life *not joking*
there's a line where the Bad Guy is talking to a woman he's coerced into doing work for him and he says "if you want to see that wife of yours again" and it was like the sun came out in my life for the first fucking time
oh, I just realised while looking this up that the other character in the scene was a gay dude! who you know nothing about. It's not important, it's not fixated on, it's just there, and that was the most important thing anyone had done in fiction to date, in my eyes

borderlands 2 is the videogame with the most high quality queer rep I've seen and i will not praise anything that comes in under that bar haha
all i want is for sexuality to become invisible and unimportant by virtue of supersaturation. gays everywhere, for no "reason," to the point where the phobes just get exhausted and give up
btw that scene in borderlands 2 was important to me *as an Out adult living with my boyfriend and several other gay men* so like. we are fucking starving for real rep haha
