I've said this before and I'll say it again: "innovation" is not a policy. You need a policy to spur innovation. Do they understand that?
I'm sure I'll have to say this again and again as climate change becomes undeniable but politicians still don't want to do anything about it.

re-reading this, I guess the lesson is I need to switch to decaf.

I should add that John Nielsen-Gammon is one of the most patient and reasonable people on the planet. I actually think that's what makes these people so mad.

A fundamental fear among deniers is that, if they talk to scientists and educate themselves, they'll find out that climate science is incredibly robust. So they attack scientists until the discussion stops. Then they can live safely in a world of ignorance. 3/

You remember that less than 10 days I predicted how the current, embattled but ultimately doomed prosecution of the CJN at the CCT would pan out. Today the Court has adjourned again to 28th January 2019. And we are not even at Stage 1 of the trial yet. Let me tell you a story.
First thing first the Nigerian judicial system is imperfect. We have been shouting for a while. That's why I would find it hard to forgive the VP whom I had naively believed was a judicial reformist. Instead he joined them to shout fight against corruption with 0 substance.
The case below is completely fictional but is symptomatic of how cases are decided under current procedural laws in Nigeria. I am not sure any 1 case has suffered ALL the ills I will paint here but I am sure some have come close. This should be an eye opener. If I say so myself.

#Khashoggi Case Thread: I am going to ‘pin’ this post to use it as an ‘Info Thread’ on the #Khashoggi Case. I am in #Turkey. I’ve been following the case closely and with access to sources & experts here. This is a very ‘sensitive’ criminal case due to ‘Diplomatic Booby Traps’!!!
The Evidence Obtained Outside Cameras will not show any evidence of ‘tempering’ but other than license plates of dozens of diplomatic cars (Many with tinted windows-large trunks) with related time stamp, drivers Info, model/year: Nothing.
#Turkish Intel-Investigative Bodies also have the list of all Diplomatic & Private Saudi & “other significant’ Planes in #Turkey for the period of ‘interest.’ Many of the Target airports have their own security cameras & related evidence.

Problem w #SusanCollins's evidentiary standard for sex assault claims - in vast majority of cases, only two are present. In many older cases, there isn't contemporaneous corroborating testimony, just friends, family, therapists who can attest as to when vic first disclosed. 1/
#BelieveWomen is trite, unconstitutional nonsense. We can't simply believe everything every woman claims now becs women & girls' reports too often haven't been taken seriously. We just need to take reports seriously. Which requires investigation in order to build a case vs perp 2
We need to safeguard due process, becs each of us will need it if/when we're accused of violating a law. And no, a mere allegation, w/out more, can't be enough to find guilt. Some people make false claims for malicious purpose. It happens. 3/

Make no mistake, Jeff Flake will reluctantly vote “yes“ in a full Senate vote if he’s forced to vote. But he’s trying to finish Kavanaugh off so that there won’t be a full Senate vote. Will it work? We’ll see. But this is still very winnable for us.
