Paul Manafort had a day: He was sentenced to prison (again, charged with a crime (again) and lost his Trump Tower condo.

What happened underscores the peril for subjects of sprawling investigations around Trump, some beyond the president's control.

Today was also the first time most of Robert Mueller's team of agents, lawyers and paralegals were in court together to watch one of the proceedings the special counsel had launched. Mueller did not attend.

A few days before he took office, President Trump said he had come up with a plan that would prevent conflicts between his new administration and his private business, which he said he would continue to own while in office. It hasn't exactly worked. usatoday.com/in-depth/news/…
President Trump's businesses are at the center of at least two Justice Department investigations. And they've sprouted a bunch of new entanglements with his administration.

The guy who promised the best people and "extreme vetting"—didn't even google Paul #Manafort?? Remember that when Trump apologists say he didn't know about Manafort's years of dirty work for world tyrants. I've always felt Trump hired him BECAUSE of his work for Putin & Russians.

My favorite part so far (paraphrasing): OK, so Manafort shared [presidential polling data] with Kilimnik. But why assume he lied when he failed to tell Mueller? He just forgot! He was so busy! After all, he was running a US presidential campaign. He can't remember EVerything. lol
Not only is NO COLLUSION a big lie. There’s so damn much collusion, it’s more like TREASON. We learned today 1) Manafort met Russian agent Kilimnik in Madrid during campaign, 2) Paulie shared polling data w/ him, & 3) They discussed “Ukrainian peace plan.” While Russia attacked.

#Trump's last campaign rally of the 2018 mid-term election season is scheduled to start in about ten minutes. It's his THIRD rally of the day. Dude is likely exhausted and I doubt this rally will be less "speech" and more "incoherent tirade".

#Manafort charging document for today's guilty plea includes details of his planting disinformation in US press to smear political rivals of his pro-Russia clients in Ukraine. Eg "Plant some stink on Tymo"—painting a female rival as a criminal who paid for murder. Sound familiar?
Manafort had used the same propaganda smear tactics in Ukraine that Trump rolled out in his campaign for president in 2016. Manafort not only had Tymo soliciting murder. He pushed tribal divisions, using "Obama Jews" & anti-Semitism to tarnish her. assets.documentcloud.org/documents/4883…
#Manafort manipulated the media with disinformation and then used those planted news stories to manipulate US govt: "I have someone pushing it on the NY Post. Bada bing bada boom…The Jewish community will take this out on Obama on election day if he does nothing.”
