A thread on the upcoming 'Nakshatra sattra - mahayjnakameshti' shrauta yajna, a series of vakyartha sabha-s to be held in pune and the most important project of the revival of the shankhayana rgveda.

Centuries have passed, since a nitya agnihotri lived in the madhyadesha, the kuru panchala lands, the kanyakubja desha or in modern terms, the whole of uttara bharata (except kashi, even in kashi, it has been only dravida brahmana-s, their number too now is not more than 4).

Vaidika bharata is all about re-establishing our most sacred and ancient traditions and their practitioners, especially in our holy lands which have been deprived of these, since almost a millennium now.

To do so, we are establishing a veda pathashala in a village in western UP, in the punya bhumi flooded by Yamuna on the west and ganga on the east, not far from the recently excavated ancient site of sanauli.

This pathashala will have at least one nitya agnihotri of shukla yajurveda, Rk-yaju-sAma will be taught, along w/ 6 vedanga-s. We'll ensure that the shrauta rituals as laid down by our purvaja Rshi-s re-start n flourish in a manner they used to before the times turned against us.

More on the pathashala later, from phalguna krshna 8 to 11 i.e. 28-31st march, we'll be performing a nakshatra sattra n a mahayajnakamyeshti. A nitya agnihotri from pune, ahitagni shri shantaram joshi will preside over the ceremony as the yajamana, while

vedamurti shri mangesh bavikar ji, will be in charge of the rituals as the adhvaryu.
It'll be performed in village badauli of palval district, Haryana. All are invited to witness the rituals.

The nakshatra sattra is prescribed in the now declining baudhayana tradition of the krshna yajurveda. So we hope this effort will also contribute to strengthening of that tradition, to some extent.

A detailed scholarly documentary on agnihotra, nakshatra sattra n mahayajnakamyeshti will also be produced to spread awareness about shrauta karma in such a manner that it’d help a dharmika viewer grasp the divinity in agni n other devata-s which our ancestor Rshi-s saw first.

Along with this, we’re starting a series of vakyartha sabha in raghavendra matha, lakshmi road, pune. A vakyartha sabha is the original bharatiya way of scholars gathering, discussing and deliberating on complex shastriya topics.

Abasaheb Patvardhan veda pathashala in pune holds such a sabha every two months, so in co-ordination with that, this will ensure that a vakyartha sabha is held every month. We also plan to hold a bigger sabha around the month of shravana later this year.

Scholars from outside pune, from tenali n a’nagar will also be invited in all these sabha-s.

Update on our revival of shankhayana shakha project: Last november our team visited vedamurti shri ravindra namputiri of edappal, a great n one of the last scholars of shankhayana rgveda tradition n humbly requested him to teach shrauta-grhya karma as per shankhayana tradition to

shri abhijit ji, who had studied the samhita from nagara brahamana-s of bansvada.
Shri abhijit ji’s studies are progressing well, him having completed darsha paurnamasa. We hope he becomes the seed which transforms into the shankhayana rgveda veda - vrksha.

We can neither run nor sustain these efforts without your generous support. We would not have been able to do a fraction of all that we have done in the last few years w/o your shraddha for dharma.
Here we make a humble appeal to all H folks to support us.

Each vakyartha sabha will require funds of about 10,000₹. If a single donor/group of donors bears expenses for one sabha, s/he will be honourably mentioned n thanked by us, the dakshina for the acharya-s and brahmachari-s attending the sabha will be given in his/her name.

Yajna dravya: 18,000

Mandapam: 15,000

Miscellaneous: 10,000
Documentaries on agnihotra-nakshatra sattra-mahayajnakamyeshti: 1,90,000
Total: 3,93,000

Each dharmika sajjana helping w/ >=5,000₹ or sponsoring any single aspect of the yajna in whole, (ex. travel or mandapam etc) will b honourably mentioned in the documentaries. We remain forever grateful to the donors who have helped us reach this far.

We’re also looking for support to shri abhijit ji’s studies, he needs 20,000₹/month to support his family. Currently, we’re managing this but a help of any scale will b much appreciated.
