This is the second draft of this thread. The first one was much angrier and less constructive.
I know the abstentions on amendment H have made many including me, furious and disappointed. Many of us feel the work we have been doing for months has been undermined and set back.
For sure it has not been helpful. We are all exhausted. I know many of you are as downhearted as I am. But let’s remember some important things.
1. The only negotiated deal has been rejected by parliament
2. No-deal has been rejected by parliament
3. The government has been forced to seek an extension and with the cooperation of the EU we are no longer leaving on the 29th March
I have spent the last 2 hours seething with anger but 2 glasses of wine and a calm down later I have applied my Remain logic and reason.
We are no worse off than we were this morning and we are still a lot closer to winning the argument than we were at the start of the week.
Remember when we began this fight we were just bunch of individuals on twitter and Facebook and in our local towns rattling around upset, angry, baffled.
We found eachother we grew a movement and we have a common goal. Nobody would listen. Well look how far we have come. They are listening now. It doesn’t matter that Labour MPs abstained tonight, this is not the end of the fight.
An extension just gives them a rolling road to another cliff edge at some point in the future, It’s just more can kicking, when they get to the next edge they will have to decide.
Is it May’s deal? Well they have already told us twice this is a terrible deal. What’s changed?
Is it no-deal?. Well they have already told us that’s a terrible idea and don’t want to do it. What’s changed?
Is it some new deal - well May hasn’t moved on her red lines up until now, what has changed to make her do that?
So that leaves us 2 possibilities #revokearticle50 or the only known Leave deal vs a final say. What I am telling myself and you is this my good friends. Have a rest tonight, get a good nights sleep and tomorrow we live to fight another day.
Write or visit your MP and tell them exactly what you think. Ask your MP what’s it going to be. Come to the march pon the 23rd March and if you can’t come, please support it in some other way.
Tell Parliament we, the grassroots movements have not gone away no matter how much brextremists in particular wish we would.

Our EU citizenship is still the best deal.
We know that, they know that.

I fight on in defence if it. Do you?

P.s. just saw this video on my TL, these aggressive yobs are not taking control.

We aren’t going to let them.
