And please spare me the microscopic wriggle-room lawyerly bullshit on the government's statements to the Commons last week. Let's describe things accurately, even if they won't: They lied.
This is the minister to the Cabinet Office last week.
It was on this basis that MPs voted for the government motion and the amendments, incl the very tight amendment on taking control of the process.
There's no time left. Might already be too late. MPs need to take control now or its no-deal, either on March 29th or July 1st.

Please do watch this. There are moments that'll break your heart, but you'll come away much better informed about what's going on in this country.
It's hard to really express the despair you feel when people who have been utterly destroyed by Tory policies back a Tory policy like Brexit to turn it around.
But you can't answer that question without hearing it. Remain must be grounded in turning things around for people like this, or it's nothing.

Very positive. If May deal defeated, we can extend to April 12 - MPs then have a chance to come up with a plan, propose it, and get a longer extension, as long as we take part in European elections.
This is as good a result as we could possibly have asked for and, honestly, EU being more patient then you'd expect.
If MPs can now take control under a form of the Benn amendment next week, there is still a way out of this godforsaken mess.

The increased support for a ‘no deal’ Brexit is the ultimate failure of the Leave movement. It’s the inevitable consequence of the refusal to grasp details, come to terms with complexity & coalesce around a plan. Compromise can be frustrating. So instead they will have a tantrum.
Some Brexiteers advocated sensible solutions. The EFTA/EEA solution gained a lot of traction in the years before the ref. Even Farage had promoted it & countless others. See Farage below from 2011 essentially making the ‘Liberal Leave’ case!

A transition is sensible on its own terms, but we have agreed to this because of the lack of viable solutions we have so far offered. Certainly none have come from the parliament Leavers who, in rejecting the EEA & demanding regulatory divergence, have compounded the problem
Perhaps we could try bombing Dresden again or launching D-day 2 to force their hand? Otherwise, this comment is a total irrelevance. We would of course have facilitated the whole process if there had been anything like a plan, or willingness to accept a pragmatic compromise

I think we need to help Dan. Norway and Switzerland are in the #SchengenArea. Within the Schengen Area people can cross the borders without passport control. Try driving a lorry full of goods into Norway nd Switzerland and you go through customs checks.
This is Svinesund Customs Station at the main border crossing between Norway and Sweden. It can handle up to 2500 lorries a day. Clearing customs usually takes less than ten minutes, but may tale a couple of hours.
