Disappointed is an understatement. In order to score political points, Republicans on the State Building Commission voted against projects that will help hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites.
Today, Republicans voted against cancer research facilities, investments in clean drinking water, improved care for veterans, getting kids out of Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake Schools as soon as we safely and responsibly can, and many other critical infrastructure investments.
Republicans on the Commission voted to support this Capital Budget a day ago — they were for it before they were against it. This was about playing politics, plain and simple, not doing what’s best for the people of our state.
Republicans would rather have us sit here in gridlock than do the jobs we were sent here to do, and that’s a shame.

The reason for the war was because US President George W. Bush and his administration claimed that Iraq owned and was manufacturing “Weapons of Mass Destruction”
As a result of the claims, the United Nations investigated Iraq’s weapons facilities throughout January of 2003, and not a single WMD was found. Despite this, the United States insisted that Iraq owned WMDs, and that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein would arm Al Qaeda with them.

As someone who works in discrimination law, I’m frustrated at how this area of law is consistently misrepresented in order to score political points. Here’s a thread on what religious schools can and can’t do, showing the govt amendments to be unnecessary & ill-informed #auspol
1) Diecriminarion against LGBT people is generally unlawful, but there are exemptions in the Sex Discrimination Act which allow religious schools to discriminate against LGBT students, staff & contractors. The proposals from Labor & the Coalition remove only the student exemption
2) The ‘fear’ over removing this student exemption is that religious schools will no longer be able to act in accordance with their religious faith or religious teachings. One example the PM and others have noted is that schools should be able to require students to attend chapel

First of all, People Without Borders is the organizer, and they are a protest group more than they are a cabal of human traffickers. They have organized this march in previous years. But this year, it has exploded.
I spoke to a source at the National Democratic Institute who specializes in Latin America and he said that this is a protest meant to draw attention to various political causes, which can be confirmed by going to the People Without Borders website.

POTUS called Sen. Warren "Pocahontas" in April 2017. The bi-partisan National Congress of the American Indians said "we cannot and will not stand silent when our Native ancestors, cultures, and histories are used in a derogatory manner for political gain.”
Continued NCAI: “the name of Pocahontas should not be used as a slur...we hoped that President Trump would refrain from using this name as a pejorative term and other such terms that insult Native peoples and degrade their cultures in order to score political points."
NCAI is the oldest & largest American Indian and Alaska Native organization, and that's what they think of the president using that slur, @PressSec & @POTUS.
