11/4 now being discussed, as an initial time limit, by which May to notify what she’s going to go for (EuroParl election or not), then depending on what she asks for, 22/5.
I also hear from two separate sources, one of the options being discussed is to go over May’s head and offer an alternate contingency of a nine month extension if UK commits to EuroParl elections. 🐦 🐈 🐦 (just say what you see)

Love the Brexity idea that business wants certainty and disorderly exit in a week provides a sort of horrific certainty. Like that father and daughter in Deep Impact, who go to the beach to hug and watch The Big Wave of Death come. Explained here by leading #Brexit light @isaby.
This clip also explains why we have Brexit at all, by the way. Because that dude, three years ago, couldn’t even get anyone to sit with him at the bingo hall and now he’s a sort of alt-right Z-list celeb. How could he possibly let that go?

If a liberal group took a camera to meeting with a Republican about climate change I'd cheer them on. But attacking a Democrat with a GOOD RECORD on climate change with an edited video smells a lot like ratfucking to me.
When a monster like Trump is in power, enabled by a thoroughly corrupt GOP, it's just flat out stupid to attack our own people. The priority has to be defeating this gang of villains, not enforcing ideological purity and sabotaging ourselves.
Do I really need to point out that enforcing ideological purity is exactly what got the Republican Party into their thoroughly corrupt state? This is not the way to make progress.

My timeline has filled up, unsurprisingly, with this tweet. It is both sad and contradictory in terms of its effects. But it is also worrying for another reason: it is just one Statutory Instrument (SI). Hundreds will be needed as the UK leaves the EU. (Short thread) /1
If SIs are spotted by someone somewhere, they might be withdrawn or corrected (in this case, it seems to be under the misapprehension the EUI is an EU institution) BUT only if (a) someone notices and (b) there is enough noise made that reaches the right ears. /2
However, these are bigs 'ifs'. It is impossible to know how many SIs will pass with untold effects because (a) the law is being read incorrectly (b) being misinterpreted (c) there is no consultation or impact assessment. /3

Amid reports that #UK PM @theresa_may hopes to renegotiate the "backstop" provision on the Northern Ireland border, let's recall that she already made clear what she wants in her letter to #EU leaders before disastrously losing the #Brexit Withdrawal Treaty ratification vote. 1/
"This could be mitigated by changes to the backstop itself," she wrote to @eucopresident & @JunckerEU "Proposals for a way in which the UK could choose to exit the backstop unilaterally were it ever to come into force, or for a hard time limit... 2/
on the duration of the usage of the backstop, have been raised and discussed in Parliament. We have also raised them previously in negotiations." So there are her proposals, i.e. the EU should basically just cave on backstop in face of House of Commons defeat. But but but ... 3/
