Border Patrol detains a nine-year-old girl, a US citizen with a US passport, for 32 hours. Refuses to say why. nbcsandiego.com/news/local/You…
Oh, and they forced her 14-year-old brother to sign false documents by threatening to charge him with sex trafficking.
It took the intervention of the Mexican government to get this nine-year-old American girl released. The Mexican government.
The kid was detained before dawn on Monday, and the story broke while she was still in detention on Tuesday. CBP promised at the time that they'd release more info when they had it. It's Friday. Nothing.
And the CBP's handwaving excuse, that the kid gave them "inconsistent information," is meaningless. It's the CBP equivalent of NYPD's old "furtive movements" justification for everything from stop-and-frisk to shooting you dead.
