Just to be clear, Charlottesville, an city white supremacists terrorized, a city where a woman was murdered and people injured, is being held hostage by more white supremacists threatening their children.

Connect the dots. This is a major crisis and has been for awhile.

People in this country are so eager to see conspiracies and widespread threats in other cultures. They think every Muslim is a terrorist. But white supremacy is an actual, existential threat that is killing so many people and destroying the fabric of society.

Stop excusing shootings and threats and assaults. Stop letting dangerous extremists off the hook. The problem is real and it’s been a problem for forever, it’s only escalating as a terrorist threat. Look at it and see it or else it’s just going to get worse.

What’s happening with Charlottesville is an active undermining of the idea of a free society. You can’t have freedom or progress with constant fear, and this extremist movement is actively working to promote a culture of terror to halt both freedom and progress.
