Between kindergarten and 8th grade, my family did one vacation: a road trip to visit my mother's family in Kentucky. We all road Greyhound on the way there from Texas. We stayed at my grandparent's place for a week. Ate out once. And that was it.

Now, I'm not saying taking three vacations a year is a bad thing. By all means, go for it. Time off is important. But don't expect people to feel sorry for you. Christ almighty.
