As a result of EA’s privacy reorganization, Terms of Service must now be drafted in the Frostbite engine. User passwords will be stored in plaintext by default, but salted hash is available as a random drop in lootboxes that can be purchased via microtranactions.
(I guess I should clarify for those for whom the above tweet is gibberish: It’s a joke about EA’s garbage practices as a game publisher, not a real description of any privacy policy change. Though I’d be utterly shocked if they’re not also awful on that front.)
