If you use S3 and you want to measure how much bandwidth exists between your host & S3, I open sourced a benchmarking tool for you: github.com/dvassallo/s3-b…

It works by measuring the download rate with different object sizes & parallel threads. Here's a c5.4xlarge getting >1GB/s:

I benchmarked S3 from all 155 EC2 instance types in existence, & I packaged the results in an interactive spreadsheet to analyze the data in detail. More info in the link 👆, but here's a 45s demo:
