Re-listening to the Adler interview with Kenney & I think I’ve finally figured out what bothered me most about Kenney’s answers in that interview: I don’t think we’ve ever - in all the years Kenney has been a politician - heard Kenney take responsibility for anything. 1/ #ableg
It’s always someone else’s fault; a staffer, a rogue campaign worker, a rogue MLA, an event he didn’t know about until after the fact, NDP operatives working to smear him ... but it is never, EVER, Jason Kenney’s fault. He is incapable of accepting responsibility. 2/ #ableg
This, almost more than anything else, is very troubling to me. Smart, strong leaders can admit when they’ve made a mistake. They can fulsomely apologize, & work to never repeat that mistake. Weak leaders & narcissists are incapable of doing so. 3/ #ableg
People who are incapable of acknowledging, admitting to, accepting responsibility & apologizing sincerely for their errors will make the same errors over & over again. And they will manipulate others into thinking they are the real victim, while they victimize others. 4/ #ableg
More than anything else in the Adler interview, this refusal to apologize for his mistakes & vile history on LGBTQ2 equality, & his denial that he’s anything less than perfect, is the most disturbing indicator of Jason Kenney’s personality. Just ... food for thought. 5/5 #ableg
