1) The @MOJ is seriously mishandling the transgender prisoner issue now.

2) High risk male sex offenders allowed to join women for activities including fitness sessions. This is a total violation of the women's privacy and dignity.
3) One of the male transgender prisoners has already given guards the slip and got onto the roof, repeating something they did while in a male prison. This is a farcical situation and the @MoJ have managed to create the worst scenario for vulnerable female prisoners.

1) Shame on US civil liberties group @ACLU for this attempt at gaslighting women. "Cisgender women should be concerned whenever an alleged concern for “protecting” our wellbeing is invoked to justify exclusion". aclu.org/blog/lgbt-righ…
2) @UCLA defends free speech of groups like the Ku Klux Klan but apparently women who ask for fairness in sport are beyond the pale. This would be funny if the misogeny wasn't so damn harmful.
3) @UCLA The transgender lobby is powerful and well funded. This is why women everywhere, and fair thinking men, need to get informed and speak up.

She's right. It cannot be a right to identify into a group you are not objectively a member of, because the boundaries of that group, which are what secure their group protections, are instantly voided. You have to create a separate target category.
Women's status as a sex caste is what informs feminism. All the protections won by feminists post-suffrage - single sex spaces incl refuges, sporting leagues, political representation - empower women precisely by excluding males. If males can identify in, they cease to exist.
A women-only space which admits some males based on self-id doesn't become a women-only space which admits some males. It becomes a mixed-sex space. The women-only space, which gave women some privacy and security, ceases to exist.

This is a hugely important complex of issues. The range of opinion is an education (in the event you aren’t already following the twists & turns of the issues around ‘gender identity’).

First survey form 2010 by the now disbanded Women’s National Commission which included 650 UK women’s sector orgs.

For me, the real issue in the #trans #GRA reform is #maleviolence against #female & trans. I note #transmen seem to be absent from discussion. They obvs don't present as #women so don't use women's spaces. But they can't draw attention to themselves as trans because... (1/2)
(2/2) in a male space they would run the risk of attack by men who would see their bodies as still female. I can't find stats on transmen being violent, or female violence on transmen. I guess there will be some, but very small no's. The problem is male violence. #patriarchy...
So we need to be looking at #male #violence and how/why our society raises #boys to think violence is a way of dealing with the world. NB I know this is a generalisation and not all males are violent & not all females are peaceful!

Woman = Adult human female

Female = denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova).

The Fabians:
Trans-women are trans-women, this does not mean they are women in the formal, scientific sense, or that the Fabians can simply erase the distinction between women & men (thus obscuring the oppressor status of the latter).
Can trans-women bear children tho? If not you cant just call them "women", as this status affords certain hard-won rights to the oppressed female sex, (not men who think they are the oppressed sex).
