This thread is to string together some of the names involved with politics and medical research in Orange County. @DonnaSteffy @arapaho415 @loonyberg @ThomasS4217 @itssuzann @WZRichard @ninaandtito @LincolnsBible
Theodore Berger is a biomedical engineer and neuroscientist at USC he developed computer chips that can be installed in the brain. technologyreview.com/s/513681/memor…
He did some post doctoral research at UC Irvine worldbrainmapping.org/About/Theodore…
What he developed is called a Hippocampal Prosthesis it supposedly passed live tissue test in 2004 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippocamp…
An active member of the Orange County Community was Frank Greinke - He spent a lot of time on committees and charitable activities, including UC Irvine medical Research Center legacy.com/obituaries/lat…
Frank was also on the Saddleback College Board of Trustees, Along with Hans Vogel
Hans Vogel gave Ronald Reagan a book signing event at his Tustin Book Store - He was also an early supporter of the Congressman John Schmitz (CA35 1970-1973) Schmitz was a John Bircher
Joseph Schmitz is John Schmitz son. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_E.…
Joseph Schmitz became a principal of the prince group in 2005 - he worked for Blackwater pilotonline.com/news/military/…
John Schmitz daughter (Joseph's sister) is Mary Kay Letourneau who was the 6th grade teacher that was arrested for raping her student, then married him. Now it looks like that didn't work out. people.com/crime/mary-kay…
Another big Orange County name is Dana Rohrbacher, he started his political career as Reagan's press secretary during the 1976 and 1980 campaigns. He then became his speech writer and special assistant 1981 to 1988
Erik Prince interned for Dana Rohrbacher in 1990 - the time Theodore Berger was exploring with computer chips for implanting into the brain. ocregister.com/2007/10/08/roh…
I will try to add more as more names start getting connected. Thanks.
In 1997 Erik Prince founded Blackwater - A company that was basically a privatized army.
In 1998 Tri ALPHA Energy was founded in Foothill Ranch, a community close to Orange county - this became the worlds largest fusion company. This company relies on a field-reversed configuration (FRC), which combines features from other fusion concepts in a unique fashion
One of the co-founder of Tru ALPHA Energy was Norman Rostoker, he chaired the UC Irvine Physics and Astronomy dept. from 1973-1976 and was a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. news.uci.edu/2015/01/06/uci…
Another co-founder of TrI ALPHA Energy was the actor Harry Hamlin, Hamlin's Father (Chauncey) helped design the Saturn V rocket with Wernher Von Braun. news.uci.edu/2015/01/06/uci…
Wernher Von Braun worked in Nazi Germany's rocket development program. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wernher_v…
In 2014 Tri ALPHA Energy worked with Google to develop a process to analyze the data collected on plasma behavior in fusion reactors. popularmechanics.com/science/green-…
In 2015 ALPHAbet was created as a public holding company for Google. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alphabet_….
In 2012, the government of Russia through joint stock company Rusano invested in Tri ALPHA Energy(TAE), one of the most potentially groundbreaking and mysterious companies in tech. forbes.com/sites/michaelk…
TAE is very secretive, but as of 2014, TAE Technologies reportedly had more than 150 employees and raised over $150 million en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TAE_Techn…
In 2014 Google acquired a company called Deep Mind, a British artificial Intelligence company founded in 2010 by Demis Hassabis.
Demis Hassabis is an AI researcher, neuroscientist, and Video Game Designer. Early in his career he started Elixir Studios, which produced two games, Republic:The Revolution (a political simulation game) and Evil Genius (a tongue-in-cheek Bond Villian simulator)
Deep Mind, now owned by ALPHAbet, has often said it wants to apply its AI techniques to fundamental problems in science. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
They started with an Algorithm called ALPHAgo that is a program to play the complicated game Go. The ALPHAgo algorithm combined machine learning and human learning to beat the world's best players.
Another Algorithm they created is called ALPHAfold which predicts the complex shapes into which proteins can be folded. This is important for understanding many biological processes.
The company used two different deep neural networks — a kind of machine-learning technique loosely based on the way the human brain works — to arrive at the protein-shape predictions. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Is Deep Mind trying to create a computer version of a human brain? And if so, what will they do with that technology?
When Habbabis was looking for Deep Mind Investors, he KNEW he wanted Peter Thiel to be an investor. WHY? wired.co.uk/article/deepmi…
Thiel did invest, then Elon Musk as well. Musk then told Larry Paige (Google) about the company.
For me, there sure seem to be a lot of ALPHAs involved here.
Here is a wonderful article by @WendySiegelman on the ALFA males. medium.com/@wsiegelman/al…
