Fell off my bike, and had to get a new piece of hardware installed!

Extremely grateful for the dozens of people that made yesterday go smoothly, and in general for the miracle that is modern medicine.
I had never had surgery before and was pretty anxious. When the intake nurse looked at my heart rate she said “Are you nervous?” 😂

Had a mini-panic as the IV was getting put in. The pain was nothing, I just don’t like the idea of tubes going into my vein!
But honestly the whole thing could not have been easier. If you’re the type (like me) that gets very nervous about the hospital / medical stuff, I definitely came away from this reassured that the system is very good.
Also special shout-out to @nickabouzeid and his dad, who took an early look at my scan and convinced me I needed to see a hand surgeon rather than get on my flight to Scotland. Idk what would have happened without that!
