All right, so this is gunna be a bit of a long thread. Because at this point, I'm really kind of pissed off. So bear with me.

Would a few people voting UCP maybe like to look again in that mirror that Premier Prentice offered us in 2015? No. Really. #ableg #abvote

You know what actually bugs me about this UCP worship going on? Its not that I have a team and that team could lose. That's a simplistic assessment of my opinion. Disavow yourself of that idea and keep reading, because I'll break it down. #ableg #abvote

I was a conservative after I left home. I went against a fairly pro NDP family that even had ties to the CCF. My great great grandfather was the CCF MP for Maple Creek from 1945-1949. We bled green/gold and then orange after 1961. #ableg #abvote

But I liked Joe Clark. (Nod to @KristinRaworth as I make a Joe Clark/Red Tory thread). He was maybe past his prime in 1999 but the PCs seemed to have learned from October 1993 and presented a balanced, measured, fair approach to governing. #ableg #abvote

I became a PC and a Red Tory because I believed in balancing growth and economic success WITH a compassionate view of the disadvantage. We believed in environmental stewardship AND growing the economy. In national unity that didnt play favourites. #ableg #abvote

I believed in expanding fundamental rights, supporting the poor through generous provision of programs while keeping our books in the black. I never looked down on them, or on the "Gay community" as we called them then. #ableg #abvote

One person on the streets was too many... I never made value judgements about how they ended up there, I believed the problem was something that had to be fixed. I'm confident many Tories still do. #ableg #abvote

But then i saw the kind of people calling themselves Progressive Conservatives. Or even Conservatives. More and more smug, more and more arrogant, spiteful, venomous. Ignoring the real needs of hurt and forgotten people. #ableg #abvote

They continued to line up at the trough, claiming to do the right things, treating more and more people with contempt. Creating in every place they governed two stratified groups. Their favourites and everyone else. #ableg #abvote

They became more and more contemptuous until we arrived where we are today. The party of Joe Clark, Bob Stanfield, John G. Diefenbaker now opposing and despising everything those men stood for. #ableg #abvote

That party and its history, though flawed especially from 1984 to 1994, has been overtaken by simple minded people, and simple minded attitudes. Dief, Clark, and even Lyin Brian would push people like Doug Ford, Kenney, Scheer and Faith Goldy into traffic. #ableg #abvote

They have acted like jilted lovers from the night of the 2015 elections and it baffles me that this level of contempt for those who lived outside their precious oil bubble are held in such low regard. #ableg #abvote

And there are good people, moderate people in what passes for conservatism these days. Not this yellow vested Taliban crap. But where the hell are you and why arent you speaking up? #ableg #abvote

At any rate because even I can't rant forever... the modern right's sniveling disdain may prevail on Tuesday. But dont ever think you've earned the right to anything approaching respect. Or a chance. #ableg #abvote
