If you are voting for a pipeline, please recall that the Federal government determines the pipeline outcome. I think it highly likely that a Kenney government, by undoing the climate leadership plan, kills that possibility.
If you are voting against equalization, please think of all taxation as equalization. Those who make more, pay more taxes but we all get the same services. Equal.
Ask yourself, why would Kenney demonize Quebec and not PEI? PEI gets more per capita, but they don't speak French. Maybe, just maybe, Quebec is chosen to stoke our emotions.
No government will return Alberta to the way it was. Natural gas prices fell over a decade ago. They are not coming back. The US does not need our oil as much as a decade ago. That is just reality.
Anyone promising to return things to the way they were is simply lying to you. Alberta must change as the world changes. We are smart, resilient people with youth and education on our side. Let us not fear change, let us embrace a new future.
If you choose to vote for Kenney today, remember his promises. Hold him and his party to account. In four years, while the world changes, Alberta will stagnate.
Kenney is not simply promising an economic resurgence he cannot deliver, he is promising to turn back time and attack women, LGBTQ and other minority groups.
