1) Nadler: "Passover, My Ass!"
(Matthew 26:65-66)

The high priest tore his robes in mock horror and exclaimed, “He has blasphemed! What further need have we of witnesses or evidence? What do you think?”

They answered, “He deserves to be put to death.”

2) Now at the feast of the Passover the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate, was in the habit of setting free any one prisoner whom the people chose. And at that time they were holding Barabbas,a notorious murderer.

“Whom do you want me to set free for you? Barabbas, or Jesus?
3) The chief priests and elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas.

“Then what shall I do with Jesus?” Pilate asked.

“Crucify Him!” the crowd shouted.

“Why, what has He done that is evil?”

But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify Him!”
4) Then, in the presence of the crowd, Pilate washed his hands to ceremonially cleanse himself of guilt.

“I am innocent of this righteous Man’s blood; see to that yourselves,” he said

“Let His blood be on us and on our children!” the mob shouted.
